With Saint Cecilia as our patron saint, our school values and believes in the power of music to enrich the lives of our students and foster a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Our music program is an integral part of our educational experience, offering a diverse range of opportunities that cater to a wide range of skill levels.

Through your child’s years at St. Cecilia, they will receive a music education that includes vocal technique, varied instrumentation, music history, and music theory. A few highlights include our boomwhacker unit for lower grades, recorders in upper elementary, and ukuleles in junior high! Our students also have a multitude of opportunities to give the gift of music back to their families and community through events such as Grandparent’s Day, our Christmas Nativity Play, Talent Show, and music ministry.

Most importantly, our St. Cecilia music program aims to encourage creativity, teamwork, and self-expression in and out of the classroom. Through our music and other enrichment programs, your student will learn the skills to move through their education in a creative, confident, and inspired way. 

Spanish enrichment introduces students to the Spanish language and culture. Students gain foundational language abilities, enlarge their cultural horizons, and set the groundwork for possible bilingualism through engaging lessons, vocabulary development, and communication exercises.
Young learners are introduced to basic vocabulary, simple phrases, and foundational grammar structures at elementary levels. They participate in interactive games and activities focusing on pronunciation and basic conversations. At middle school level, students expand their vocabulary and begin constructing more complex sentences. They explore cultural traditions, celebrations, and literature, enhancing their cultural awareness alongside language skills.
Our Spanish class is a unique opportunity for students to deepen their faith while enhancing their language skills. Through a blend of religious teachings and language acquisition, students embark on a meaningful spiritual growth and cultural enrichment journey. The class fosters a strong connection to their faith while expanding their ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
 

The study skills enrichment equips students with effective strategies for learning, time management, note-taking, and test preparation. It empowers them to become independent learners and enhances their academic success by teaching valuable techniques for efficient studying. Our Study Skills program uses the Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible/Respectful Model. The S.O.A.R. program is specifically designed for sixth grade students who are entering junior high school as they prepare for greater independence and self-advocacy.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program at St. Cecilia School is one of the treasures of the religious experience of children in grades pre-kindergarten through third grades. This wonderful weekly opportunity affords children opportunities to encounter Jesus through hands-on prayer works deeply rooted in Scripture and Liturgy.  The weekly visits to the peaceful retreat house, called the atrium, facilitate recollection and silence through which the children develop a relationship with Jesus and fall in love with HIM.  The intentionally prepared environment is one of order, simplicity and beauty offering the most essential elements of our Catholic faith.  Assisted by catechists who walk alongside the children encouraging awe and wonder through open-ended reflections, the children are filled with deep joy and come to wrap their hearts around the mysteries of the faith.  Observations of this most precious gift are encouraged, as this experience is one that all children should have the opportunity to experience.  For more information on this method, please visit https://www.cgsusa.org/.

The STREAM Lab (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is a dynamic environment where students engage in hands-on, interdisciplinary activities. It encourages exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration across different subject areas, nurturing skills essential for the modern world.

The art enrichment allows students to express their creativity through various artistic mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and more. It encourages self-expression, imagination, and critical thinking, fostering an appreciation for aesthetics and artistic processes.
 

The library serves as a hub for learning and exploration, housing a diverse collection of books, resources, and digital media. It provides students with a quiet space to read, research, and access information, fostering a love for reading and enhancing their academic endeavors. The library is also home to Fancy and Peaches, our library pets! These guinea pigs boost the morale of our students while they enjoy a good book.

Physical Education (PE) is a structured program that focuses on promoting physical fitness, motor skills, and overall health. Through various activities, exercises, and games, students develop their physical abilities, learn about teamwork, and cultivate healthy habits. This enrichment is offered to all grade levels.
