Giving Back to our Community

An important part of Jesus’ ministry was to serve those in most need. He left us with a mission to follow His example. In an effort to help our students live out this mission, we have two different avenues to serve the needs of others. The first is an individual call to action. Each St. Cecilia student is required to serve others for a designated amount of time during each quarter (time varies depending on the grade level). The second is a schoolwide call to action. Each class adopts a service project that they work on together during the school year. Just a few of the organizations that our school family has supported in the past are: Sacred Heart’s Christmas Food Drive, Coats for Kids, Catholic Charities of Acadiana, St. Jude’s Hospital, the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, the Desormeaux Foundation, Child Smile project, the 256th Infantry, Carmelite Monastery, Acadiana Animal Aid, Camelot Nursing Home and the Children’s Shelter. It is through these acts of service that our students become more aware and empathetic to the needs of the world around them.
