In an effort to improve traffic flow,  prevent backups at the traffic light, and keep our Crossing Guard safe during drop-off and pick-up times, we are implementing a change to our car line exit procedure beginning this Monday, September 30, 2024.

Starting on this date, all vehicles exiting the car line will be required to make a right turn only onto Main Street. This will apply during morning drop off (7:30-7:55AM) and pick up (2:40-3:10) or when the Crossing Guard is present.

If you need to travel east, you may turn left no sooner than S. Jefferson Street to avoid backing up exiting traffic (please see the map attached to this post).

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a smooth and safe process for everyone.

Thank you for your attention to this important change, and for your continued support in keeping our campus running safely and efficiently.

There will be times during the year when we must make car line adjustments “on the fly” for the safety of our staff and students, and that requires patience and cooperation from all families. Going forward we will use the following procedures when the weather is severe enough to warrant safety concerns:

MORNING:

• Staff will unload the first set of cars in the line between the crosswalk and the beginning of the covered walkway near the gym. 
• The stop sign will then move to the corner of the gym, and drivers will be directed to use the right lane, closest to the covered walkway for unloading.

AFTERNOON:

• Staff will clear walkers, then clear cars in the line between the crosswalk and the beginning of the covered walkway near the gym. 
• The stop sign will move to the corner of the gym, and drivers will be directed to use one lane, closest to the covered walkway. This will mean loading only 5-6 cars at a time instead of 10.

Please do not assume that drivers ahead of you are not doing the right thing. Always follow the directions of staff on duty. Cars should never attempt to “jump the line” by pulling into the second lane if vehicles are in one lane. Doing so only puts staff and students at risk of harm, and you will be asked to wait or to make the loop again.

WALKER PARKING:

Please be reminded that families using the walker option should NEVER park in front of our administration building or the PLC. Lots in front of the church offices (near Edward Jones), behind the church, or on Jefferson Street may be used.
 

Please see below the correspondence from Coach Chuck Hebert at Sts. Leo Seton in regards to a junior soccer program available to our students.  The participating grades are Pre-K to 4th grade. All games are played in Sunset on Saturday mornings.  Practices will be held on the SCS playground after school and scheduled at the coaches’ discretion.

I hope that everyone is having a smooth start to the school year! Registration for the fall season is rolling along and has two weeks left. It will run through August 23. We had an incredible fall season last year and are looking forward to another great year for our participants and families! The fees this year will remain the same as they were last fall!
