Annual Asbestos Notification

According to the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), each school system must notify the public of inspections, response actions, periodic surveillance, and re-inspection activities on an annual basis.
This notice is to inform you that AHERA Compliance Management Plans are available for public inspection in either the principal' s or coordinator's office of each school site in the Diocese of Lafayette School System. These documents include the Inspection Reports, Reinspection Reports and the Management Plan. Requests to view these may be made Monday through Friday during regular school hours.
Inspections of Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) are made by each school every six (6) months. Every three (3) years, re-inspection is conducted by a Certified Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner.
Citizens for Educational Choice

Dear Parents,
The 2024 regular session of the Louisiana Legislature recently ended. Our school is a member of Citizens for Educational Choice (CEC). We need to participate in an electronic advocacy tool designed to help parents of nonpublic school students connect with and influence their state legislators. Parents in our schools should sign up for this tool right away in order to have their voice heard at the State Capitol in Baton Rouge.
To register, go to www.louisianacec.org. On the right of the main page, you will click on Action Center. From there, you will proceed to fill out the information. This tool is called Voter Voice. You will receive legislative alerts from CEC's lobbyist, Tom Costanza, during the legislative session. The alert will ask you to contact your local legislator (Senator or Representative), which you will do by clicking on an electronic link.
It is very important that the legislator reading the email know that you actually live in his or her district. They know through their campaign work what streets are in their district. The email will look like it came directly from you, thereby maximizing its impact on the legislator. CEC's name will not be shown on the email the legislator receives from you.
You will only receive three of these action alerts per legislative session. Legislators want to hear from you. The entire email process will only take you 5 minutes, and you will be working effectively at increasing the monies your school receives from the State (by increasing the Required Services funding), as well as defeating bad bills that would hurt our schools and your children.
Please join CEC's Voter Voice advocacy network by registering at www.louisianacec.org. It will only take you a few minutes!
Sincerely,
Erin B. Henry

Morning and After Care Procedures

Parents, please be reminded that when dropping off for morning care, vehicles may not be parked in the right drive through lane.
- If walking your student(s) to the cafeteria, please park to bring them to the cafeteria door. We know some of our youngest students may be a little anxious in the mornings, but it is best to part ways at the door and begin the transition quickly. Our staff is there to help with this.
- In the afternoons, when picking students up, adults are not allowed to go to teachers’ classrooms for the safety of all students and staff. There is a standard entrance we use to bring your child to you. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Dorothy at asc@scsbluejays.org. Thank you for your cooperation.
SCS Brand Integrity

We are excited that our St. Cecilia family has so much school spirit, but we need to address a recurring issue with our brand and logos. Our marketing team has worked very hard to create recognizable, unique, yet consistent marks within our brand. We have selected partner vendors that we trust to sell our merchandise and stay within our brand standards. Outside of these vendors, no one should be creating items using our brand, image, or logos without permission. Brand guidelines will be published here soon.
While not yet trademarked (we are working on this), our logos should not be used to create spirit gear, sports uniforms, warmups, color run shirts, or other items for personal use or sale. We also ask that you refrain from using other bluejay logos (i.e. the Toronto Blue Jay, Creighton Bluejay, etc.) in conjunction with our school’s name as they ARE trademarked properties that are not our own. This goes against the uniform, consistent look that we have worked so hard to create.
When you support the SCS spirit shop, you are also supporting St. Cecilia financially. Should you have any questions or have ideas for merchandise that you would like to see in our spirit shop for purchase, please join the PTC Spirit Shop Committee. If you are interested in becoming a vendor and working with us to create beautiful items and officially represent our school, please reach out to our Advancement Director, Mrs. Sheree Prince. We can’t wait to collaborate with you!
