On April 9, 2025, our school community gathered on the front lawn to mark this exciting milestone in our 116-year legacy of faith, learning, and service.

With heartfelt remarks from Principal Erin Henry, a blessing from Bishop Deshotel, and prayers led by Fr. Michael Delcambre, the ceremony celebrated not just the start of construction — but the beginning of even greater things ahead.

Shovels were turned by student representatives, school and parish leadership, diocesan officials, and members of our Capital Campaign and Building Committees — a powerful symbol of the unity and dedication that made this project possible.

Special thanks to Angelle Architects, LLC and ARL Construction, Inc. for helping us bring this vision to life.

2024 SCS Cheer Camp Success

July 28, 2024
By

Our SCS Cheerleaders returned from camp last week with awesome results!  Once again, they represented us with class and professionalism.  Special thanks to Coaches Taylor Serio and Ashley Sonnier for guiding the girls as they look to provide school spirit all year long.

The St. Cecilia Cheerleaders recently attended SCA Cheer Camp at the University of Louisiana @ Lafayette. The girls had a great time learning new material, skills, and stunts to use throughout the year. The squad received a spirit stick each night and blue ribbons for all evaluations. The team  received the Staff Award for exemplifying the SCA Motto: God first, family and friends second, and cheerleading third. They were also named 2nd Runner-Up for the Award of Excellence.

The following cheerleaders were given medals and named All Americans by the SCA staff:

  • Macy André
  • Maci Fontenot
  • Peyton Guilbeau
  • Hannah Leger

We are so proud of our Bluejay cheerleaders!! Awesome job, girls!!
