Bluejay Cross Country

The St. Cecilia Cross Country program, open to students in grades 5–8 each fall, is a true example of Bluejay grit, endurance, and sportsmanship. Our athletes train hard and compete with heart, representing our school with excellence both on and off the course.
Over the years, our teams have built a tradition of success. The boys’ team claimed championships in 2019, then went on to earn back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022. A highlight in program history came in 2021, when our boys’ team made history as State Champions—the first-ever state title for SCS cross country.
Each season includes around 10 meets, giving our runners the chance to challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and celebrate their progress. One of the highlights of the year is the Middle School Run for a Cure, a special fundraiser meet that supports local cancer patients. This event reflects our commitment not only to athletics, but also to service and community.
Many of our cross country alumni continue to shine at the high school level, earning state championships and carrying forward the strong foundation built here at SCS.
